Digitally printed images are composed of tiny microscopic dots. The greater the density of the dots the sharper the image will be. Less dots means there's less color being spread out over the printed surface. This results in washed out colors, blurry images, and pixilation. An image must at least have a dpi value of 300 in order to guarantee a high quality print.
